Happy Lunar Year
In Chinese language it is chunjie (春节), the Spring Festival.
Although it is still winter, people welcome spring and the end of the cold days.
Spring Festival goes according to the lunar calendar. Dates vary.
But the celebration is the same… new beginnings, fresh starts, fireworks, no showering allowed on New Year’s Day.
Also no sweeping and throwing out garbage before the 5th… so you don’t wash away the good luck!
And its the year of the pig, dedicated to beautiful personality and blessing with good fortune in life.
